Founded in 1962 and developed by Michel Warren, the Cinémathèque de Grenoble is a center for the conservation and promotion of cinematographic heritage, as well as image education.

The Cinémathèque de Grenoble is an association of film professionals and cinephiles, open to all.

Its film collections include almost 8,500 silver prints (mainly 16mm and 35mm), including 3,500 short films.
The Cinémathèque de Grenoble's collections also include over 4,000 books on cinema, over 200 periodicals and magazines (the oldest dating back to 1916), thousands of archive files and almost 24,000 posters.

Every year, the Cinémathèque organizes around a hundred public screenings, including some 80 at the Juliet Berto cinema, regularly accompanied by meetings with professionals and academics. Twenty or so off-site screenings are also organized in the region, mainly in Isère.
Every week, the Cinémathèque welcomes you to its small screening room for two events devoted to short films: petites formes and petites formes jeunes public.
