Start at Place du Château, Vizille
Follow the "historical circuit" signs

Start your visit at the Statue de la Liberté, nicknamed "Marianne" by the people of Vizille.
Then follow the "Circuit historique" signposts to the rocky outcrop overlooking the town, where you'll find the garden and ruins of the Château du Roy. At the end of the garden, you can admire the view of the Belledonne massif and the Vaulnaveys valley from the belvedere.
The tour ends at the Prieuré de Vizille, located in the cemetery. Its portal, one of the most remarkable in the Dauphiné region, remains.
The rest of the tour takes you to Vizille's church, Sainte-Marie, built in 1780 to make up for the destruction of the priory.
Continue on to Place Stalingrad (formerly Place au Grain), where you'll find the classically styled Hôtel de Ville.
Finish your stroll with a visit to the Domaine de Vizille.

A paper guide to accompany your visit is available free of charge on request from the Tourist Office.
Please note! There are steps along the way, but you can bypass them by accessing the garden of the Château du Roy via rue de la Poterne.
