At the end of the 19th century, new industrials built beautiful mansions in Grenoble and its surroundings.
Hotels, villas or castles... by trying to imitate the style of ancient houses, architects experienced with mixing cut stone and cement, and turned to Art Nouveau, in the 1900s, for ornamentation of ironwork, stained glass and mosaic.
