This art center aims to offer a new approach to contemporary art and to introduce present art production to a wider public. All visits of the exhibitions are explained. Mediators may offer workshops special visits as well as activities on contemporary art

Sheltered under four vaulted rooms of carved stones, the Centre of Art Bastille aims at offering a new approach of contemporary art and at easing the access to artistic production to a wide range of people.
The CAB's priority is to promote accessibility to art. It houses a relevant programmation of pieces of work, which are creations of acknowledged artists.

It also helps the artistic new talents of Grenoble to emerge, offering an exhibition time to the students of the Superior School of Art of Grenoble.

The CAB offers commented visits of the exhibitions, as well as workshops, courses and animations around contemporary art, led by the mediators in charge of the place.

Besides, the CAB is deeply rooted in a very significant place in terms of heritage: Bastilla's fort, major touristic spot in Rhône-Alpes. This fortification is accessible by one of the first urban cable car in the world and is visited by more than 600 000 persons each year.
