The eastern barrier of the Vercors offers great slopes for ski touring beginners: wide alpine pastures, sparse beech forests or sharp peaks, take advantage of my excellent knowledge of the area to discover ski touring without stress.
Depending on your level of skiing, your desires, your physical condition and, above all, the snow and weather conditions at the time, we'll choose the most appropriate tour together:
- The Grand Veymont (2341m) is the highest point in the Vercors, with numerous itineraries for all levels.
- The Pierre-Blanche summit is a magnificent option to complement the classic Pas de la Ville.
- The Baconnet rock (Serpaton mountain pasture) is an exceptional vantage point for a half-day initiation.
- The Pas de la Selle and all the little secret valleys beneath Mont Aiguille are wonderful playgrounds.
- The former ski resort of Col de l'Arzelier, just below the Deux Soeurs mountains, is also an ideal place to start.
...
Among other things, we'll learn to read the terrain, analyze the snowpack and manage our effort and equipment.
I'll lend you all the safety equipment: avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, and we'll learn how to use them effectively.
You can rent touring skis in Gresse-en-Vercors or Grenoble.
We can also lend equipment for children.
