From the Place du Château, head towards Uriage and pass under the Voûte (Tunnel). You'll discover the Locomotive, a conference hall built on a former site of the Voies Ferrées du Dauphiné. This is where the trains and streetcars (tacots) running from Grenoble to Oisans were parked and repaired until 1964. Cross the road and cross the Pont des Allas. Follow the Château wall, to which is attached the legend of a pact between Lesdiguières and the Devil. (An option is available up to the Belvedere to admire the Vizille plain);
Arriving at Péage de Vizille, you'll notice a small tower, the hydro-electric power station and a chapel built in 1869. Next come the Romanche dykes, the Grand Pont, and the remains of the old cardboard mills and foundries. On the way back, follow the Gua and Martinets canals, the site of the former Alliance Textile, the garden city, the former Tannery and the Pétillon mill, and finally, back to the Place du Château.
