Pass by the water catchment of the village of Notre Dame de Commiers. 400m later, the steep path starts to turn right and goes south. Once you reach the Commiers plateau, turn right onto the path leading down to Notre Dame de Commiers. At first going North, the path makes a big 180° turn and then goes South for 800m.

Possible options: Possibility to go back and forth on the formerly cultivated flat, or to continue the ascent on 400m, up to the pivot, allowing to consider other destinations, in particular towards the flat of Saint-Pierre.after some steep laces, the path skirts a meadow from which a beautiful point of view on the lake and the dam of Notre Dame de Commiers is possible.join a little lower the D529 and go down on 400m to join the carpark of departure.

The construction of the Notre Dame de Commiers dam began in 1960. In 1959, the access road from the village to the Drac river bed was built, with no less than 200m of difference in level to be equipped with a 2.7 km road. The dam, similar in design to that of Serre-Ponçon, is made up of a dike with a width of 230m at its base and 10m at its crest. It is 350m long and 40m high. It retains 34 million m3 of water and participates in the hydroelectric production of the Drac with upstream, in order, the dams of Monteynard, Saint Pierre Cognet and Sautet. The annual electrical production of this complex is 1800 Gigawatt and allows to have at any time a power of 700 Megawatt.
