Standing 86 meters tall (95 meters to the tip), it was the tallest reinforced concrete structure in Europe. Designed by architect, engineer, and contractor Auguste Perret, it was intended to serve as an orientation tower for the 1925 International Exposition.

A spiral staircase also provides access to this terrace along one of the walls.
Eight pillars form the load-bearing structure and give the tower a bold, soaring appearance.
The stability of the pillars is ensured by a system of encircling bands that emphasize the tower’s verticality by wrapping around the shaft at regular intervals. The Perret Tower, having suffered the ravages of time, has not been accessible since the 1960s and requires extensive restoration. Its nighttime lighting is very effective and highlights its architecture.
The building was listed in 1975 and designated a historic landmark in 1998.

The Perret Tower reopens on July 11, following an exceptional restoration project. Visits—self-guided or guided—are available by reservation only, subject to availability.
Self-guided tours provide access to the main observation deck, 60 meters above ground, offering a panoramic view of the city and the mountains, complete with an orientation map.
Guided tours provide access to the summit observation deck, located 85 meters above ground.

Practical Information
There are no restrooms in the tower. Until August 27, 2026, please use the restrooms at Été Oh! Parcs. Restrooms will then be available in the pavilion next to the tower.
There is no coat check.
Medium-sized bags are allowed. Bulky luggage is not permitted.
Strollers are not allowed. Please use a baby carrier instead.
