The hills of Bellevue and Pravena

Equipment : Pedestrian sports, Hiking itinerary

From Montchaboud, walk around the hills of Pravena and Bellevue. It is at the top of the latter that you will find one of the most beautiful views of Grenoble and the surrounding mountains.

Step by step

From the washhouse in the center of Montchaboud, take the "chemin des Fontanettes" which climbs below the summit of Pravena. After a fence, it leads to a forest track. Continue straight ahead until you reach a junction with a wide track. Take the path on the right to reach again a wide downhill track which leads to the "Haut Brié" post. Take the road on the left which leads to the "Les Rivaux" post. At the crossroads, take the road to the left, then, after 50 m, take the track to the right.

Go past the "Fontaine Trouchaillet", before entering a cattle yard, and continue along this track which leads straight to the Bellevue summit, reading table [360° panorama of the Vercors, Drac valley, Belledonne, Chartreuse and Grenoble]. Go straight ahead, down through the meadow, through 2 gates, before rejoining the track which, after finding the GR® 965 Sur les Pas des Huguenots, leads back to the starting point.
