The Papilles et Papote restaurant awaits you in Chartreuse, where it serves healthy, sustainable cuisine. This SCOP (cooperative enterprise) also offers baskets of local produce and a fine cultural programme involving artists (concerts, theatre etc.)

Immerse yourself in nature

What could more calming than taking a walk in the mountains, with snow crunching under your feet and bracing fresh winter air?

Starting out from the village of Sappey-en-Chartreuse,  take the Ecoutoux  snowshoe trail for a slightly challenging ascent to the summits, finishing with an exceptional 360° panoramic view of the Chartreuse mountains. 

Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun-filled day in the great outdoors with the École de Porte! Wearing snowshoes, spot animal tracks and learn how to build your own igloo. An unusual activity which teaches youngsters about the natural riches of Chartreuse. 

The Chamrousse Tourist Office invites you to discover the fauna that inhabits our mountains with its  "Le parcours du petit Montagnard"  treasure hunt. Walking and investigations are in store for those taking part in this fun and educational experience.

Take home some tasty souvenirs

Visit the Ferme des Prés Lauzés in Autrans-Méaudre and meet the bison, llamas, ponies and many other furry and feathered friends! The sales area has charcuterie, ready-made meals and delicious locally-farmed beef.

The GAEC de la Faurie offers delicious milk and cheeses for sale at the épicerie Les Paniers Sappeyards , in Sappey-en-Chartreuse. Their succulent tomme des alpages is to die for!

If you love mountain honey, stop off at La Ferme aux Abeilles de Chartreuse . In a healthy, unspoilt environment brimming with nectar and pollen, Loïc Thomas produces honey, royal jelly and other beneficial products from the hive.

Did you know? The story of outdoor equipment giant Petzl began a few kilometres from Grenoble, in 1975. Although its head office remains in Crolles, this company specialising in climbing equipment and technical clothing is now recognised the world over.
