Today, absolutely everything - except the cannons - remains of the military construction, rebuilt in the 19th century under the orders of General Haxo. One thing’s for sure, it’s worth walking up to the firing banks of the half-buried stronghold, where all of a sudden, Grenoble and the mountains lay at your feet.
Discover a breathtaking view of Grenoble, the greater Grenoble ara, and the surrounding mountains, all the way to the Mont Blanc.
With the guided visit, you will have access to zones normally off limits to the public, notably the fortified cavalier, one of the fort’s main defense rooms, with its stone arches, that once housed canons.
You will also go through the surprising underground retreat area, dug several meters into the rock itself.
