Park at the town hall of Saint-Barthélémy-de-Séchilienne. Go down to the main road to cross the Grand Rif stream and take the path that goes up to the Saint-François-Régis chapel, overlooking the village.
Take the path in the direction of Montfalcon, from which you will have a wide view of the "Ruines de Séchilienne", located on the other bank of the Romanche. This is the name given to a large landslide that could block the bed of the Romanche. This site is permanently monitored by sensors and cameras fixed on the mountain.
Then go up the path to the road that you follow to join a path on the left to reach the hamlet of Pey. At the fountain, turn left on the path that leads to the Lac Mort. This small lake is used as a reservoir for the Ile Falcon hydroelectric plant.
Continue towards the Bigeards. St. Bridget's Chapel is at the entrance to the hamlet, just off the trail.
After a few hundred meters, the landscape opens on the valley of Oisans, Belledonne and Vercors. Your walk continues at the hamlet of Sappey.
The return to the village is done by the forest path in direction of Saint-Barthélémy-de-Séchilienne.
