Sunsets are always magical. But have you tried the combination of sunset + mountains + skiing? That’s what the resort of Chamrousse has to offer! Every Saturday and Thursday during the school holidays, enjoy the sunset at the top of the Croix de Chamrousse before hitting the slopes one last time.

An afternoon on the slopes of Chamrousse

After a relaxing morning, why not put your skis on and hit the slopes? Located just 30km from Grenoble, the resort of Chamrousse has an exceptional panoramic view of the capital of the Alps.

If you leave Grenoble at 2pm, you can easily expect to arrive in Chamrousse by 3pm and find a place to park.

With your “Sunset ski” pass in hand, you're off for a full afternoon's skiing on the many slopes in the area until 6pm! From 4pm onwards, the slopes begin to empty of skiers who have come for the day.

When the sun goes down, the mountains take on a pinkish hue

Is the light slowly starting to fade? Head to the top of the Croix de Chamrousse at 2,250 metres high to watch the sun set behind the mountains! If you love sunsets at the beach, you should know that watching the sun disappear behind the snow-covered mountains is just as enchanting a sight. The peaks put aside their immaculate white to cover themselves in a magnificent pinkish hue, giving the mountain landscapes a warm, romantic atmosphere.

Some practical information

In Chamrousse 1650 - Recoin and Chamrousse 1750 - Roche Béranger, 4 slopes and 2 ski lifts will remain open until 6pm: the Croix de Chamrousse gondola lift, the Bérangère chairlift and the Crêtes, Bascule, Gaboureaux and Perche slopes.
